[Morphology] 1.5 - 2 mm. Oval, laterally curved. Not very convex. Head and elytra black.Frontal rim of the pronotum is brownish and unspeckled and dull with a net like structure. Elytra black (seldom deep brown) sometimes with a brown or red rim at the top end of the posterior. Close to the top often a brown spot of indeterminate shape. Coarsely en densely speckled. Compare with Nephus bipunctatus, that is somewhat larger.
