[Morphology] 1.3 - 2 mm. This black ladybird has an ovally shaped body that is slightly convex.The hairs are short and relatively dense. The head is black and the labium is light brownish orange. Antennae red to light brown, mandibel palpae black. The pronotum is black, its for corners somtimes with a reddish glow and finely speckled The elytra are black with a reddish rim at the posterior There is a large red - yelowish red spot on the rear half of each elytrum. The legs are orangey red to light yellow or brown. The base of the femur may be darker. Thighline does not extend to the rim. Looks like the Mediterranean Nephus nigricans that has a darker and smaller spot.
