Orange ladybird

[Morphology] 6 - 9 mm. Large, orange ladybird with white spots.
The rims of the elytra and the pronotum are transparent and the eyes can be seen.
A mildew eater that only occasionally takes aphids.
[Ecology] Sunny woods, i.a. on maples
[Distribution] Common especially in wooded area's, notably on acer
